The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Symposium was hosted under our partner Laurea University of Applied Sciences and Nazareth University, USA, in Finland on 19-23 August 2024. The Symposium is aimed at exploring the impact of AI on Future Cities and Communities and stimulating a thought-provoking journey into the world of AI and its profound impact on the modern world.
The event lasted 5 days where leading experts, thought leaders, educators and industry pioneers explored the positive impacts: ethical, educational, and policy dimensions of Artificial Intelligence across the globe. The Symposium included keynote speeches, panels, workshops, and engaging discussions focused on AI in the digital era and how AI aligns with human values and benefits all.
It was also a great opportunity to meet and hear from Switzerland, the Czech Republic, France, and the United States ambassadors. They graced the event on the opening day with a panel discussion on various aspects of AI governance.
Many thanks to MANOLO’s LAU colleagues Paulinus Ofem and Sari Sarlio-Siintola who had the chance to present our project and exchange useful knowledge.
Particularly, during our project’s poster presentation, it was delightful to share MANOLO’s vision with participants drawn from various countries across the EU and the United States of America. Also discussed with Symposium participants how the EU guidelines for trustworthy AI and the AI Act will be considered with the help of the Z-inspection® process.
