MANOLO project did the 1st online training session, titled “MANOLO Z-inspection® Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence Co-Design Process”. It is organized by project’s partner, Arcada University of Applied Sciences, on the 14th of March.

In order to ensure AI trustworthiness and legal compliance development and operation by design, the project and the system will adhere to Trustworthy AI principles via the adaptation of the Z-inspection® methodology and will serve to help AI systems conform to the new AI Act regulation.

In detail, to address this risk, the project will implement a structured Trustworthy AI assessment process, Z-Inspection®, which entails a multi-disciplinary approach involving experts in ethics, law, technology, and domain-specific fields. This collaborative effort will facilitate the identification and early resolution of potential problems during the design phase of the AI solutions.

The goal of training was to support AI developers, users, and other MANOLO Project stakeholders in the early co-design of an AI system, to meet the requirement for Trustworthy AI as defined by the High-Level Expert Group on AI (AI HLEG) set up by the European Commission.

The overall vision of MANOLO is to deliver a complete and trustworthy stack of algorithms and tools to help AI systems reach better efficiency and seamless optimization in their operations, resources and data required to train, deploy and run high-quality and lighter AI models in both centralised and cloud-edge
distributed environments.
