The MANOLO Project successfully organised and hosted the specialised session “When Data Pipelines Decide AI Trust and Efficiency: Theory and Practice” during the prominent DATAWEEK event in Oslo.

Bringing together a powerful consortium of outstanding European projects and initiatives, including AI-DAPT, EXTRA-BRAIN, PANDORA, RAIDO, and the Turing Project, the session delved deep into one of the most critical challenges shaping the current AI landscape: balancing unwavering trustworthiness with high computational efficiency.

Showcasing Cutting-Edge Edge AI Solutions

During the session, MANOLO’s core innovations were presented by Julia Palma, who showcased the project’s cutting-edge approach to model compression without compromising model integrity. By optimising AI models for resource-constrained environments, MANOLO is bridging the gap between theory and real-world deployment. These advancements are set to empower critical sectors, ranging from high-precision medical devices to offline industrial robotics.

Through this approach, MANOLO is actively transforming trustworthy AI from a strict regulatory requirement into a viable, deployable, real-world solution.

Key Takeaway: Europe’s competitive edge in Artificial Intelligence will heavily depend on sovereign, resilient, and edge-first technologies capable of delivering high performance exactly where it matters most.

Accelerating the Transition to Impactful Applications

The discussions highlighted how technical advancements in neuromorphic computing, knowledge distillation, and automated data and model drift detection are vital to the future of the industry. By mastering these technologies, MANOLO is accelerating the transition from theoretical AI potential to highly impactful, tangible applications across three major pillars:

  • Healthcare (e.g., smart wearables and medical devices)
  • Smart Manufacturing (e.g., autonomous robotics)
  • Telecommunications

The MANOLO consortium extends its warmest gratitude to all partners, speakers, and participants for the inspiring discussions, valuable insights, and continued collaboration toward a smarter, more trustworthy European AI ecosystem.
